Has anyone had success with building a default profile in Windows 10? Or does anyone have a better way to modify the profile (including the start screen and task bar) WITHOUT copy profile. However, when I log into a new account the start menu doesn't open.
Now I am experimenting with Windows 10 Pro RTM and attempting to use the same method. We used start8 so I didn't have any issues with the start screen and we removed all metro apps so again no problems there. Afterwards, I copied the profile to the Default profile folder and replaced the username with the %USERNAME% variable and it worked great! I then did something similar in Windows 8.1 (which we only deployed to a small number of PCs). I added desktop icons, hid some icons, and pinned/unpinned task bar icons. In Windows 7, to build a default profile I installed all software we want inside the image and then create a user called 'ProfileTemplate.' I then logged into the ProfileTemplate account and customized it to my hearts desire.
